Information regarding delays in deliveries of admission-related documents due to postal service disruption caused by the earthquake

16 Mar

Dear Applicants,

In response to the recent earthquake in northeast Japan, we ask applicants
of the undergraduate and graduate schools accepting applications in March
2011 and April 2011 to take the following steps (This message is for applicants
of the admission processes/entrance exams handled by the International
Admissions Office. Applicants of other admission processes/entrance exams
should contact the respective admission offices):

1) If you are applying from an area of Japan experiencing postal delays,
please contact us in advance.

2) We recommend you to track your application package by using a delivery
confirmation service as a precautionary measure.

If you believe that your application package is not being delivered on time
due to disruption of postal services in Japan, contact us immediately.

3) We plan to deliver screening results and examination admission cards as
indicated in the application guidelines.
However, we may decide to deliver them by other methods (such as e-mail)
if we foresee delays in delivery due to disruption of postal services in Japan.
